I appreciate the gerber daisy because it is such a happy flower. It is my favorite flower because it vibrates happiness and joy and makes me smile. Whenever someone brings me these flowers, I remember such occasions as graduations, birthdays and dance recitals. I appreciate my pj's because they make me feel warm, safe, and comfortable. There is nothing quite like coming home after a long day of work and slipping into a pair of pajama bottoms and a comfy, worn in sweater. My current pair of pj's was a Christmas present from my nieces who live in Barrie, On. | I really wish I hadn't skipped third period Food and Nutrition class in grade 10. My most rebellious moment in high school was Thursday April 23rd - I'll never forget it. I decided to leave school property with a friend to go to the convenience store down the street. As we walked, I kept looking over my shoulder to see if anyone might catch us. Coming back across campus, I thought we had gotten away with it ... until the next morning when I was called into the principal's office with my mom who happened to work at the school. Three day detention after school, plus I was grounded for a month at home. I missed the school dance, a friend's birthday party and what should have been a date all because of a slurpee. | I remember trying to learn how to do a back handspring - it did not go well. I was at a cousin's birthday party working on my back walkovers - which is when you do a back bend and then lift one leg over your head at a time to stand up - when I thought, I could probably do a back handspring if I just went faster. So I went into my back bend (as usual) and started to kick upward - 1, 2, 3 - big jump....crack! I felt like my back folded in half - I thought for sure I had done some permanent damage. My parents rushed me to the hospital where we waited three hours for an x-ray. Thankfully there was no damage and I could go back to acrobatics after two weeks. |
