Today: Extended Metaphors. Using the metaphors from the story, my example, and the metaphor bag, create your own extended metaphor (100-150 words) about a person, a thing, an idea that you feel passionate about. Option 1: post it on your website on the poetry page (give it a title, and don't forget the date); Option 2: hand in a hard copy on Friday.

Today we went outside and I learned that you are all Vampires and hate the sunlight.
I gave you an essay/story about someone's worst mistake where you identified where the author expressed (recalled) her experience, and reflected on her experience.
I gave you a graphic organizer (found on the homework page) that needs to be filled out for Monday.

Key things to remember/trouble-shooting:
In addition, you will write a one + paragraph reflection that addresses the following questions (worth 10 marks - due Monday)
- What did you think of the 5-card flickr story building process? Did you enjoy it? Why/Why not?
- Did the photos help your writing process? Why/Why not?
- Why did you choose to write about that particular aspect/event in your life? How does that experience/event effect you as a person? Has it changed you? How? Why?
