Cultural Artifact Show and Tell
Go home and choose a cultural artifact that represents your culture. Take a photo or it, or bring it to school on Wednesday. In point form, with at least three points, explain why your artifact represents your culture. Be prepared to share with your classmates.
Ms. Citton's example:
My background culture is Italian. My grandparents were all born and raised in different parts of Italy and came to Canada in the 1950's.
These cards are culturally significant to me because:
My background culture is Italian. My grandparents were all born and raised in different parts of Italy and came to Canada in the 1950's.
These cards are culturally significant to me because:
- My Nonna's were my babysitters. I learned how to play with Italian cards before I learned how to play with Canadian ones.
- My grandparents speak very little English and through these cards, I was able to teach them some English, and they taught me some Italian.
- For me, these cards represent three different generations coming together and spending quality time playing games and laughing.
